Default Trex 700 Nitro Pro Flybarless and CoPilot 2 Test Flight

Here is a video of a CoPilot 2 system installed on a Trex 700 Nitro Pro FBL.

Installation was pretty simple and works extremely well.

In the video, the CP2 had a slight drift to the right - which we adjusted after the shoot through the Set Angles Menu on the IRNET Programmer.

'On/Off' switch is also programmed to the TX.

Did you have some drift or was there a breeze.

Is your Co-pilot 2 connection is in between the receiver and 3G flybarless controller? Beside connecting the 3 cyclics, do you use the RCV4 for gyro function?

@pril
Thanks mate. It was drifting to the right but we fixed it easily using the SET ANGLES menu in the IRNET programmer.

@Night
All of this is possible through you my friend. Your willingness to share your knowledge benefits a lot of people. Many thanks! Many thanks!

@yacsf
Yes the CP2 goes in between the 3G and the RcRx.
It basically looks like this

SERVO ---->3G---->CP2---->RcRx

Because it was a 7 channel RcRx and the Trex 700N had a governor (which means all the channels were taken up) - I used the tail gyro gain channel for the 'ON/OFF' switch - pretty much as described in NightFlyr's sticky.

Did not use the RCV4.

Hope that helps you out.

I just trialled a 700E FBL/3G with the CPII (thanks nightflyr). It took a few flights to get it tweaked, but it works well. Take-offs are a bit interesting but in the air its smooth.

I've since learned it has been better to lift off with the CPII off and once in the air switch it on

I posted my questions at the end of another LONG thread but I am using the CPII with an SK-360 on a Pantera 50 converted to .32 swinging 550s. Using it on a tx switch and did have to set angles ( with help from NF, and ended up being less than 1 degree) but it works great.

The ranks of FBL/CPII stabilized helicopters are growing

I did some more tweaking on the FBL unit (3G) to dumb it down some more. Its much smoother now. There's a thread on the 3G page for settings, I'll try to post them there tomorrow. Thanks to nightflyr for the help.
