Default Flybarless for Beginner?

I'm fairly new to the hobby and have played around with small coaxial helicopters and some fixed pitch models. Now I'm planning to move into CP. Does it make sense to start flybarrless (e.g., Trex 450 with G3) or is it better to start with the regular models?

start with a flybarless you will learn faster. I wish I would have started with flybarless, they are much easier to fly for a beginner and when you crash way faster to set back up. and your flight times will be 15-20% longer, also easier on batteries.. these are just a few advantages that i can think of off the top of my head.

if you go the £££$$$£££ then go for fbl, its quicker and a hell of alot easier to setup. it is more stable also, when you are learning the wind can be your enemy but fbl makes flying in the wind sooo much easier.

yes i would say quite a bit more stable, im still learning and i have a 500 and 700 3G.

for the setup you just need to google bert kammerer 3g setup and that will guid you through the whole setup. very simple.

Here is a link to a website that has a video that addresses installing the hardware side of the 3G system and also has a link to the excellent Bert Kammerer video that discusses the software setup.

I am a beginner and i can tell you that on a 450's and on the 250 that i have it has been soooo much better to start flybarless. I am now building a 600 and going flybarless on it as well. I definatley recomend 3G system for a beginner along with the head. Easy to fix if you crash for whatever reason easy to program.
