Default 3GX will not power on

I am almost finished with my 500 EFL. Have done all mechanical setup in dir mode. When powering up to do my final finish on the 3GX I had some problems so decided to rebind. I am using two spectrum Satellites no receiver and a DX8. When I power on the 3GX, Sats start blinking but no lights on 3GX. I start bind process and Sat lights stop then start again with slower blinking for three flashes and then stops and then nothing is lit up. I have tried binding a number of times with the same results. I have searched for a solution and none seem to apply. I did see on you tube video someone with almost the exact same problem which he found out was caused by both satellites being bad. Only difference is when his satellites stopped blinking it did not turn back on which mine does with three slow blinks. I am fearing something happened with my 3GX when I was constantly powering up and down when doing my setups.

Are you using DSMX or DSM2 sats?
You have to make sure in the radio it is set for DSM2.

Take the sats and bind them to the model in the tx not thru the 3gx, rather another 7channel rx and then hook up to 3 gx. It's called a hot bind or someshnit!

Ok now back to swirling the sticks!!!

Try connect one satellite to 3GX at a time for binding.

I actually found out what was wrong .I had gotten the satellite remotes when I bought my DX8. As a promo in addition to the AR8000 and remote they gave you a second one. I was using the two remotes from this Combo. After much searching as to the problem I read you should determine whether you have a DSMX remote or a DSM2. I found I had one
of each. When you actually look at the sats closely they look a little different. I talked to Align and they said you can't mixed them also. I went back to using an AR7010 with one Sat and it works fine. At least it wasn't the 3GX.

Troubleshoot and bind one satellite to it and see if it lights up solid. Then try the other receiver separately and do the same thing. This will tell you if it doesn't like one of your satellites. Also we only use Spektrum or JR.

Default 3GX will not power on

Hey guys, my first build, I finished setting up my 600efl through DIR, sorted the tail and just had to do the governor. I was setting it up with just one satellite connected until my other one turned up. Left it for a month, new satellite plugged in nothing works no lights! Yes both DMSX satellites. Tried unplugging everything, checked voltage at the plug held DIR button, and even tried to rebind, no lights, nothing.

I nearly cried, I haven't even flown the thing. Any help fellas?

So just to clarify, Higham, when you plug your batt in (with Tx off and bind plug in the 3gx) your Sats aren't flashing?

Correct! It's weird I had set the whole thing up bar the govoner, one would assume you could just turn it in an continue. Saying that this is my first big build.

It does sound strange. It's not something silly, like a reversed polarity Thr, servo lead etc???

Can't be, it bound first time, I went through all the DIR set up and tail setup, turned it off and put it in the cupboard. The only thing I added to it was the second satellite. I did however sheath both satellites, and looking at the color of the wires going into the plugs us opposite one another. Will this matter?

See how the orange wires are different. One sat is from the dx8 combo, the other was bought online. Does this matter?

I'm not 100% on that? On my 550, both orange wires are on the left if looking at the same orientation as your pic.( which leads me to believe the Sat on the left is perhaps the one you brought online?)
If one is wired correctly, it should in theory bind, and the other wrongly wired, not,
But...... the 3gx is pretty fussy with regard to wiring, steps of setup etc, so I would not rule this wrong sat wiring out as a potential cause.

Just thinking aloud......maybe swap the Sats over. eg swap ports and see what happens when binding?
Like I said ' if the 3gx isn't seeing a correctly wired Sat in Port1 it may not send power to port2 either.

If this is the case, the Sat that is in port2 now is swapped to port1, it may bind??

Ok finally got both sats working and rebound!
I feel like a bit if a nob though. When I pulled the connectors off to sheath the wires, I took photos to put it back together but still stuffed it up. So I jumped on google images and found a photo of it hooked up to a 3GX unit and copied it. Worked straight up.

Thanks for you help Bonkievan!
