Default Lynx 300X stretch kit size comparisons and vid.

Vid on the **NEW** 300X stretch kit by Lynx coming. Doing one with size comparisons to the stock 300X and stock 450X part.

Looks good ! What is the best fit canopy on the Lynx CF frame ? Most room for 1500 mah packs ? I currently use 1300/1350 packs on my L CF frame with stock canopies, but think that a stretch would benefit from larger pack for cog and flight time reasons !

Stock shape (any maker) or EX style will give you the most room.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

EDIT: The EX is a 450X canopy for if you want to run 6S. It's workable if you aren't looking for plug and play.

There is other threads about this if you use the "search" option.

Who makes the "EX style" canopy for the 300x?

+1. I'd love to know of a better canopy fit. I've been using the stock plastics because I got sick of dealing with the horrible fit of the fiberglass canopies on the Lynx frame, especially with my Typhoon motor... Can you elaborate on the "EX style" canopies?

So the Lynx 300x stretch kit comes with a lynx frame brace? Sounds expensive. Where does one need to travel to load up one of these kits into ones heli parts transport vehicle and bring her home?

I had a PM about running the same 6S set up on a 300X with the Lynx frame.

The guy asked me to trial fit my 450X EX canopy on the frame with 2 1300mAh packs under it. So I did.

A 450 EX works but a 450X stock is to small. Sorry for any confusion.

Thanks for clarifying. One last question. Does the EX canopy need the canopy grommets moved to fit on the Lynx frame? Would it be possible to post a photo of how she looks with the EX canopy on her?

This thread is about the stretch kit.

NOT converting to running 6S's or/and the Lynx CF frame.

Please start a thread about " Converting to 6S "and I'll gladly add a pic of my 450X EX canopy on my 300 in that thread.

I don't care about running 6s on a 250-size bird. I just wanted to find a better canopy fit since a stretched 300X will need higher capacity batteries to get the same flight time. It's already a pain in the butt to fit a 1300mAH pack on the Lynx framed 300Xs with the fiberglass canopies. So yes, my question does indeed relate to the stretch kit. But nevertheless, please excuse me for polluting your thread.

OK

This is my first 300X. I didn't realize flight times were such a issue with them. I apologize. Guess I'll find out as soon as I can fly mine. (crappie weather since I build mine. )

Here is your pic of a 450 EX canopy on a 300X stretch.

It fits but its loose and I wouldn't do it personally.

Cool beans. Thanks for the pic! It at least gives me an option to consider.

The 300X flight times are in the 4-5 minute range until you start getting into the higher RPMs and start pumping out the 3D. I've got my flight times dialed into 3:30 of really hard 3D on the one 300X governed to 3700RPM and come down with 20-25% capacity remaining. Another 300X that I have governed to 4000RPM is down for repairs at the moment; it's a 4S setup so the flight times are even less.

I'm anxious to give the stretch kit a try on one of my 300Xs. I have some 290mm blades I might try on it; if they're too long I can just use the Lynxies.

Edit: Your comparison video was great, btw. Putting the booms and blades side by side to get an actual visual of the differences was very helpful.

Thank you. I'm sorry I was short. I'm used to getting 4 min. flights with my birds. My BL is only 3. lol

The 450 EX needs the lower belly area moded, a way to keep the grommets from coming off the pins ( wider canopy pulls out on the grommets) Maybe some style of screw on button quick attach style.

Fits but main rotor wash may peal it off.

It's cool, don't worry about it!

Anywho, I'm used to 3-4 minute flight times (it's just part of flying electric, I guess), but obviously if I stretch this bird the flight times will be less, especially since I'll want to at least try to maintain the same headspeeds. Performance wise, I would expect the stretch kit to be a huge improvement to the overall disc loading on the 300X, provided it's given an adequate powerplant to supplement it. It's amazing how much an extra 30mm at the tip will do to a bird this size; I remember how stunned I was at the flight differences when I Lynx-stretched Pookie (my MCPX BL) from 115mm to 125mm.

Must be my fly style. My BL time is the same as before I stretched.

This is a learning curve for me here also being my stretch 300 has the Lynx 4100kv motor also, so that will be a variance for the stretch flight times also.

This is all virgin ground for me as I never had a 300 before this so my opinions post maiden will be all clean and untainted by old hates or wants.

I want to stretch my MH CF framed 300x but don't know how the Parkfly motor I am using will cope with it. I would love to keep using this motor it fits my flying style pretty good. Do you guys think the parkfly motor can handle it?
