What's the best charger? Power House?
Hi Guys,
I have been using PL-8 for over an year and I am really satisfied. But, as usually, want to try something different, do you have any tip? Didn't find anywhere something similar... What do you have? Thanks! |

Here are my solutions and also read the sticky (if you haven't).
What Charger? What Power Supply? https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=476431 FMA and iChargers are the tops these days. Both make high power DUOs... the end of the line! I currently love my iChargers 4010Duo and have no complaints. I didn't care for my PL6 so I sold it. I use dual deep cycles ($90 each) for 95% of my charging so I can fly and charge at the same time and save money by getting by only 2 lipos per model... really counts when you are using $300 12s stick packs. Power supplies at www.feathermerchantrc.com are excellent and come ready to go.. these are server supplies.. designed for 24/7/365 use.. very high end. I bought the 24V47A version for home use. So a Dual FMA or 4010 is going to be your options. My solution for 95% of my charging today.
I thoroughly enjoy the iCharger DUO's screen and the information they deliver at a glance. There are a number of DUO models now and FMA also makes a PL8 DUO.. excellent charger.

Until maybe a year ago, your PL8 was pretty much the best and most powerful charger on the market.
If you just need/want more power, I'd look at the Dual PL8. If you also want something different, I'd look at the iCharger Duo chargers. If you need a LOT of power (2000W), the 4010Duo. If you can get by with less (1400W), the 406Duo should still be a good choice, assuming you don't have anything greater than 6S. I have the 1300W 308Duo, which will go up to 8S.
