Just got a Trex 600N DFC Need help setting it up
I just got a Trex 600N DFC with the O.S. 55 HZ
The heli has all the servos and a Align 2 in 1 voltage regulator and ignitor. This is my first nitro heli. I was thinking about getting the BeastX and using my 8FG Futaba and R617FS 7 channel receiver. What would be the best governor to use? Last edited by Creaky Cactus; 04-21-2016 at 09:08 AM.. I have the same old beast. For what it's worth and what I do with it, I just run old school throttle curves with no governor. So that's 1 option.
Just so you are aware nitros run different throttle curves. You need to use a V curve in stunt mode. Not a flat curve like an electric.

Does the Align gov work with The BeastX unit? It would plug right into the Align electronics you have. Check if you have magnets installed in the clutch bell.

Where in GA are you located?
As I look at your photo, your tail servo linkage is setup HORRIBLY. I can hear the linkage screaming "HELP ME!" I don't want to assume anything, so I'll ask... have you ever set up a helicopter before? Do you know how to fly? If you're in the Atlanta or Kennesaw area, we can meet up at CCRC and I'll get you in the air. |

The best option would be to use an FBL unit with a built in governor.
Have you considered picking up a Microbeast plus instead of the old beast? Align has a governor sensor that plugs right into it. http://www.aligntrexstore.com/Beastx...01_p_4156.html |

Thanks everyone for your help. I really appreciate it.
I was messing with the tail servo is why the linkage is touching the tail gear. I've been flying helicopters for two years. I also have a Trex 550 DFC that I fly a good bit. I have never setup a Nitro so its all new to me. I live about an hour from Kennesaw in Bremen, GA. As I look at your photo, your tail servo linkage is setup HORRIBLY. I can hear the linkage screaming "HELP ME!" I don't want to assume anything, so I'll ask... have you ever set up a helicopter before? Do you know how to fly? I have the AR7200BX on my 450X and Trex 550. I like how easy it is to tune at the field. Sounds like that would be the way to go with the governor. Do you use the Microbeast plus on your helis?

Unfortunately no. I'm the only real flyer there now, and there's talk of turning the heli side into an FPV course. If they do that, I'll really have no close place to fly There are few beginners, but only 1 is consistent. |

Thanks, I just ordered a Microbeast Plus I'm going to use the governor on it. Looks like I will need a S bus receiver to use the governor, All I have at the moment is a standard 7 channel receiver. How do you like your Futaba 8FG?

Hi, I note of caution if you will, please. First internal combustion / nitro heli for you ? Are you familiar with Beastx ?
Keep the variables and changes to a minimum. Personally, I would not change radio systems and embark on a new flying platform at the same time. New FBL, new engine type and new TX all at once will make my head spin - recipe for disaster. |

The futaba tx he has he is going to use he uses in a big 30% airplane he has so he knows how to program it also. just never used it for helicopters far as i know. so he has a big Gasoline plane and also he started flying with a Nextstar witch is a glow plane, and has a nitro rc truck.so hes been around glow/gas stuff just not a helicopter. I understand your worrys if he had never been around any before ever.

I understand your concerns. Like Chris said above, I have a good bit of experience with the BeastX and Futaba 8FG. I always air on the side of caution.
