I'm on the fence about which 450 to go for. I was looking at the TT e325s pretty seriously, but they are back ordered until late July. The others aren't arriving until late July either (x3, jr forza).
It seems the mini protos is one of the top 450 helis. Wanted to see what owners thought and which kit to get. I am not doing a stretch, I want it to stay a 450 size.

How about the warp 360?

Had one and regret selling it

IMO the mini P is the better heli, those who owned a mini P and bought a warp seem to be selling the warp not the mini.

Lowest parts count, low maintenance, high performance heli. No upgrades necessary out of the box. Many clever engineering details like sacrificial parts so it crashes well. Manufactured in Italy, parts quality is usually top notch and prices are reasonable.Turbine like sound.

Can´t think of any weaknesses. Maybe if you like to tinker or want some upgrade bling this heli is not for you.

I HATE to tinker and upgrade. I expect the heli to fly well out of the box. Maybe this is the one for me!

Well there are a few upgrades like stretch kit or cnc bearing blocks or different power setups (4S, 6S) but these are not "needed" in the sense of you must have them to cure any flaws. It is a fine heli out of the box, especially the combo with YGE/Scorpion.

Low maintenance was the main selling point for me. I now have 300 flights in it without teardown, just regular maintenance like oiling bearings and lubing the belt Mind you most of the time I´m doing more slow 3D, but I do not hear adverse things from the guys doing smack.

What servos (size) do you guys recommend? The reason I ask, it would be great to try something different on the cyclic such as MKS, KST, or Torq if they make them in that size. but I don't know what size that would be. I love the Futaba on my E5 but would like something that is lower on price. Don't mind going all out on the tail servo and doing the ds95i or a high end futaba. any recommendations? I would prefer to stay away from Align electronics.

Just saw a report on the KST...they are off the list now.

MKS DS95/95i is probably the best combo out at the moment.
If you are looking for something a bit cheaper the DS92a+/DS8910a+ makes a great combo as well.

I forgot about RJX. I have seen some good reviews there. A little but better price than MKS. How are the MKS servos fitting?

Parts collection:

Which scorpion motor will work best with this, the one recommended?
I would like to use a Castle ESC again because I have worked with them a lot in the past, which one would be best? Especially now that they have some new escs.
Which blades would be best?

I am still debating on doing the naked kit or the one with motor, esc and blades.

The new Rail 326 should fit fine right?

After comparing the price of escs and motors, I guess the combo is the best deal. I can change to rail blades once I get used to the heli.

Yeap, just mail Bill (msh-direct) as above, he's a good guy.

I'm really not sure about those msh blades but they come with the kit and the kit is good value considering you get the ESC and 3S motor.

If you want to go straight to 6S and stretch - I'm sure you could work something out with him.

PS - I kind of like sabs here myself but that's how I began, and I've been very conservative and not flown anything else on my msh's. Heli direct just brought in some 320's and 350's. Just scored some reds there.

Can't beat the combo.
And, can't beat the mini p. It is hands down the best 450 on the market.

And FYI, if you haven't had one before, you will need to adjust to the gear ratio. Standard kv motors won't work. The 3s motor is 2580kv, vs. 3500 or higher in other machines. The power systems on mini p's stay real cool though, mine has never gotten even barely warm.

That's interesting. My P500's scorpion gets hotter than hell, though from what I've learned here, it's still within operating tolerances. Btw, I'd listen to what gitbse had to say ;-)

I have a 4s sitting in the post office now. Won't get it until I return home on Tuesday, servos should arrive Wednesday so I can finish the setup that day. Maybe fly Thursday if its not raining. Excited to work with this Heli! I might go ahead and get the Vbar pro to set it up with. I have express on my e5 and its great but didn't want to upgrade to pro on that and then have it not flying well. If I can get use to pro on this Heli I can keep working with it until it is setup perfectly. No rush but excited.

Welcome to the club.
You will never want another 450 ever again. It's the Ferrari of the 450 world.
