Default Hitec 225 MG Servo's

Hi,

i'm planning on buying a Atom 500 and i was wondering if the Hitec 225 MG wil fit this heli. This heli will be put in a fuse, so no hard 3D for this machine !

Grtz,
Dirk

I had them in mine...

Will fit with "effort", but were CRAP to say the least.... no really... everytime i went to centre stick they centered differently..

I also had an issue where i had to drastically adjust endpoints, as the one servo simply did not push as far as teh rest??

Maybe i just had bad luck.... but i took them out, running innolabs now... and awesome!

I've had generally good experience with Hitec servos but o get the best out of them you need their digital programmer as there can be issue with centre points and range of travel in a few as Fade-Dude seems to have had - the InoLabs are great and the ALign 520 are a good servo and drop straight in !

Hi Dflyer, I put 5245mg in my atom and they look and perform great. They center well, are fast and are quite cheap. I posted a thread on how to mount them in the atom as they are not the plug and play type.
I crashed my atom so hard recently that I'll be better off buying a new kit (w/o motor, esc and blades) but the servos held well. I just had to replace a top case of one of the 3 cyclic servos, no gears stripped.
Good luck and enjoy the atom.

@ Fade-Dude,

do they fit without modifications ? I must say that i'm really pleased with the H82 MG that i have put in my TREX 500. They do center well, not as well as digitals but they do their job fine.

@nmanno

Are you pleased with your Atom ? Can you compare it with the TREX 500 ?

Thanks
grtz,
Dirk

Are you talking about the hitecs or innolabs?

Both (don't fit) out of the box...... the innolabs came together well using the align spacers you can buy.

The hitecs i fitted without spacers sorta sitting in between no where, barely biting on the frames.. i won;t recommend fitting them that way or flying those servo's :-)

The Hitec 5245 fit very well if you use the align spacers (t-rex 500 parts). See my other thread.

I am sorry I can't compare the atom with the rex500 but all I can say is that the motor is amazing, it never gets hot! The new ESC is really good as well.
I don't like philips screws, I prefer the hex screws and unfortunately the atom is full of philips while the rex has hex ones.
What is good as well, is whilst I had a big crash, a new kit is going to cost me not even half of the rex 500 price. The frames are super strong and I haven't broken them in my major crash.
All in all I am quite happy with the atom, but I am can't really compare the two in flight.
