Should get my OS30 motors and APC props on Tuesday, as they arrived in Trinidad yesterday and need to clear Customs.
.....In the meantime, I threw-on one 3S motor I had laying around (just for a spool-test), programmed the ESCs as per Chris' recommendations, calibrated the thtottle min / max on each ESC and test-run each ESC ........all good so far!
The 5000mAh 4S 30C packs will be here in another week so we're "theoretically" two weeks off from maiden, but then there's our son's wedding on the 19th and I'm sure the wife will not let me go anywhere near the workshop till after that event.
Although, figure I may get to do the complete setup and checkout once I have the motors in-hand, as I do have a bunch of 5300mAh 3S packs to fire the rig up Wednesday or Thursday night ......this waiting is killing me

Been thinking about that, but the wife keeps adding things to the "honey-do" list.
...............we'll see
.................................That would also mean, I'd probably be flying with very little blood in my alcohol stream

Hey Chris!
Any Wookong settings I need to be especially aware of?

Not sure how well some 3s packs will work, unless you plan on using them in series, as 6s packs...

Other than making sure everything is working in the correct directions and amounts, there's nothing special required. I always start with the gains at default 100% settings, and generally don't have to make much adjustments from there. Possibly a small increase in the yaw from 100-125%, But YMMV....

Be sure to set up the Failsafe, using the Alternate or Smartsafe method (if using JR/Spektrum).

Sounds good! ........thanks!
The system boots-up fine on 3S and would allow me to do the full setup. I would not attempt flying on anything less than 4S.

I used my Digital Level to set my motor-mounts absolutely parallel to the frame-hub. It probably does not need to be really that precise .....but, I'm anal that way (wife thinks I've got too much time on my hands)

And would be easy to check if they are loose, by trying to turn the locknuts by hand. I like it!

Motors and props have cleared Customs (I did not get clobbered) and I'll have them tomorrow. Just upgraded Wookong-M firmware to v5.16 and reconfigured the entire flight control system ......that was a walk in the park! I like the ability to limit the flight altitude if needed (when flying at our new field, we are cleared by Civil Aviation Authority to a ceiling not exceeding 400').
Also, in v5.16, there's a flight safety compensation for failure of one propulsion system (hope I never have to see it work).
So tomorrow I mount motors and balance props (I hate balancing props).

Hey, there's only six of them. You could have bought the octo version!

OK, she's all done and ready to fly!
Battery packs will be here in another week
The APC props were surprisingly well balanced right out of the package, I only had to balance two of the six.

Here's my deployment package (Ground-Station is in the trunk). I need to work on some sort of case or bag for the Multicopter .....and my dog Harley just loves to be in the picture:

Here's the machine setup and ready to fly:

Here's one of the power-plants, I can now see why Chris insists on these motors. When you see and feel this motor in your hands, it exudes quality:

Just a heads up. There have been quite a few issues with the GoPro cameras affecting the DJI GPS units. My GoPro Hero HD will kill GPS reception on my Naza-M if it's within about 14-15" of the GPS "puck" and I've had to wrap it in foil to stop the interference.
