Default V50 muffler - the OTHER problem

for the Velocity, it seems like most people have the 50 size muffler and want to know if the OS/YS 55/56 will run well.

I have the other problem. I have just picked up a 2nd V50 and it came w/ the 55 muffler but I plan to use an OS50Hyper on this machine.

Anyone experienced in this ?

the 55 muffler will work fine on a 50 hyper and will allow you to graduate into a better motor later if you choose.

You may find the 8.8 gear ratio to work better for you on the Velocity and the OS50 hyper. Try to keep the motor rpms at about 17,500-18,000 rpm range.

thanks. I think I'm leaning to simply get a YS50 instead of reusing the Hyper as it seems to need a new liner/piston/ring. Haven't really decided yet though.

IMO
if you have the budget
get a YS56
HD has them for a great price.

If you want something a bit cheaper. The TT53 has great power ONCE you do the OS carb mod. Used TT53s in like new condition for $100-125, add an OS carb from your taco'd motor and you're golden GREAT power, on the cheap

IMO once you're spoiled with that YS56 anythign less than the TT53 would be a waste of time and $

but that's my opinion as I'm power greedy

Gotta agree with CoronaL! Got the YS56 on my Velocity. Even at around 5500ft above sea level here in the Denver, CO area this things pulls great!
