Default 130x 3 n 1 for a 200 size heli

Read a thread where Nexgen used a mcpx board to stabilize his 450 heli...

I hink he did that before the 130x came out. I was windering if a 130x board could be used in my gaui 200 5 blade buid ...

A friendsuggested the 130 board over mcpx since the 130 has a tail servo...

Just not know anything about the voltage step up/ down requirments etc

Why would you bother to MacGyver such a thing, when there are a bunch of inexpensive 3-axis gyros available: Tarot ZYX-S, Robird G-31, Copterx 3x-1000 and 3x-2000, Bigaole, etc.

I suggest you get yourself a ZYX-S and be done with it.

I am always for tinkering and 100% agree this is part of the hobby. But in this case I agree with Dr. M: 130X is designed for 130X size heli (as mCP-X board for even smaller) and you don't have too much space for gains and other little adjustments you might need. If there weren't other inexpensive (cheaper than 130X board!) FBL controllers which are more than capable and more adjustable I would go with it (and I did with 4g6s on 450 heli where the next cheapest was newly released µBeast and it was 2.5 times the price).

But, if you decided to go - please let us know how did it go.

I think that step down is not needed as 130X already works on 2S and board is powered at ... actually I don't know but I can bet less than 8.4V (internal BEC to 5V?) and I am sure servos do not work at 8.4V either. But, for 450 heli I wouldn't expect 130X board's BEC to be good enough to power big, more power demanding servos - so when making adapter cables don't connect VCC to board - connect them together and to 450's BEC (throttle cable's 5V). Also, if you fly 450 on 3S - you would need to see if 130X board can be powered with 3S - not sure if internal BEC is good enough to do such step down from 3S to 5V (for internal purposes). It might, but might overheat as well.

Eh, I didn't help much, did I? O : )
