Is a heli motor, YS91 ST suitable for use in a plane.

My dad needs a motor for his Pitts and I can get a good one 2nd hand off a mate.

you can, if you can get the thrust washer for that particular engine, and have the head machined down to the shape and size of the rest of the engine. With the head the size it is now and on a heli, it will run cooler than it should, so you will have to run a leaner fuel mixture to get the same performance, which will provide less oil to the engine, making its life shorter.
