Flymentor setup with programmer

I read the sticky on the flymentor and thanks to Ivor and many others I gained a lot of information, maybe too much. anyway I have it installed on my CX450 and a futaba 7c system. I left both gyro and fm gain controls uplugged to set them in the handheld programmer. First flight went pretty good, didn't crash anyway, but the tail was wagging like the family dog so I have to adjust the gyro, its currently at 25 gain. My real question is the system was showing a solid green light while in the air but it wouldn't hold position I had to keep correcting both the tail and cyclic to keep it in a hover. the FM gain was at 80 will turning that up more help or is there some other setting that needs adjusted? the heli was easy to control so I don't know if the FM was helping or not but I think it was. I don't have the usb cable so I'm stuck using the handheld programmer. Also is there a way to change gyro mode with the programmer I didn't see it listed in the menu.

I went back through the manual and answered some of my own questions on the gyro, just have to see how it works tomorrow. maybe a little more sunlight will help the ccd see the ground.
