Default New UMX plane, sbach extreme

Sorry can't post a link I'm on my iPod but I got an email from horizon with the new umx plane. Looks like it's gonna be another umx beast. 2s brushless setup.

Sooooo glad I didn't pull the trigger on the Beast or the UMX Extra, I knew there would be a UMX model worth waiting for. Now the wait......gonna be a long wait too

Whats the difference between this and the Beast though? (other then one is a mono plane and the other is a biplane). I'd still go for the beast.

There's already a link under Foamies and Park Flyers.

The BL motor in the Sbach is a 2500Kv and the Beast is a 2300Kv. This gives the Sbach more vertical punch, according to Mike McConville. He also went with the 342 (dual seater) over the 300 (single seat) since the longer canopy would aid in better knife edge flight. The 342 also has smoother flowing lines and looks better.

This should be lighter as well, the Beast looks nice but I like the look of "modern" aerobats more. Now to find somebody that wants all my micros....

thought this was foamies and pork fliers. If this can hover then I'd get it over the beast, but if not I still like the looks of the beast better. But I don't plan on buying another plane for a while, don't plan on buying anything new for a while..

Horizon Hobby is very good about advertising 3D and such. With that said, this is an precison aerobatics bird, just like the UMX Beast. So, while you may get it to hover briefly, it's not a true 3D plane. If you want a micro 3D rig, get the UMX Extra 300. Hope that helps.

As far as pork flyers, I'll believe it when I see, um, ahem, pigs fly!

Actually, he has one already.

I can get my 50cc SBach a little brother!

BTW, I 3d my big one, no reason to think the little one won't unless it doesn't have the power.

Looks like the Sbach has a sym wing too (like the Sukhoi 26. The beast is flat (thin) wings...dunno if that'll help the Sbach in ..um uncontrolled landings?

If it was proficient at 3D they would certainly tout it as such, they're careful and specific with their wording. I'm sure there are a lot of 3D capable Extra 300's but the Parkzone one was not, same with Sukhoi 26's, the UM 26xp was a nice aerobat but it couldn't 3D.

have there actually been any parkzone UMX planes that are truely 3D capable right out the box? I know people have modded the sukhoi to make it hover but having flown a stock shuhkoi, sukhoi xp and extra 300 none of them seem 3D capable. Sorely tempted by the Sbach to match my Sebart 54" one but fomr the video it appears to be good at really vicious snap rolls and little else.

The UMX Extra 300 is a true 3D plane, and is advertised as such. This being labeled for "Precision Acrobatics" to me means it should shine at everything below true 3D flight which is fine as I already have 3 3D planes of various sizes to fit all the areas I have to fly at. This is just going to replace my Sukhoi and I'll probably sell a 4-site too as it's no longer my out front plane, the 31" Vector fits that bill perfectly and flies way better, so I guess after that I'll only have/need two 3D planes.

The UMX Extra can 3D, and is pretty good at it. Are you talking about the Parkzone Extra 300? If so then yes, that one can't hover.

That's the E-Flite UMX Extra 300, the Parkzone one has a 41" wingspan and is basically a scale Extra 300 aerobat.
