The 2010 Heli Invasion Fun Fly
Evansville, Indiana.

Please come fly with us at our beautiful field. We will have auto and drag race contests. Awards for winners. Breakfast and lunch available. Special guest John Snider in a single seat heli that will do a demo and auto rotations, a visit from the local Air Evac Lifteam Helicopter. 2 open flying sessions for those that bring a plank. Night flying. Lots of flying space. We have 500' of concrete and 600' of grass. Lots of space here. 110 volt electricity all over. Visit the clubs web page for more information. If you want to come If you want to fly any other days other than Saturday, you are more than welcome too. We will be there Friday, Saturday and Sunday but officially Saturday for the event.

Actually when we got together to brain storm ideas for this event we thought we had come up with something almost original for a name. I knew about the game heli invasion. I guess hind sight is 20/20. Maybe we should have googled it before finalizing but to be honest I don't see it as that big of a deal. With a quick after the fact search I also found a "heli invasion " in AZ, the one you mentioned in VA and yet another in WA from 2004 so it's not original in your example either. How many names can a guy come up with anyway? We're definitely not trying to step on any ones toes here. I would certainly hope that no one is worried about an event with the same name several hundred miles away and on nearly opposite ends of the calendar.

You know I am in... just over 1 1/2 months left. It is going to be a blast. I should have the T-rex fixed up by then, two Rappys and the Gasser. I will be practicing auto's every chance I get.

Here are a few photos of our field I took last night. As you can see, we have lots of space. Highway 164 is right in the back ground so lots of people will us when they drive by. We have a great location an field to fly. The field faces east so around 10am or so the sun will be out of the way and will back light us the rest of the day. Plenty of parking and plenty of electricity if you need it. PA system for an MC any just about everything else you would need is there.

Just a little over a month away. So make sure you can attend. We should have a few sponsored guys show up also. I have emailed back and forth with 5 so far.

4/15/2010 I have added a few more photos from the road to show the great place. Lots of room for campers and RV's, tons of spaces for easy ups. Lots of picnic tables and tables for working on. As you can see we have 2 large pole barns. There is an are in one with lights and power lus tables if yo need to get out of the sun and work on your stuff. Also space in the club house with 2 simulator PC's plus everything else a clubhouse should have. YOU WILL LOVE THIS PLACE... Come fly with us..

Hi Jamie there should be me and another pilot from Owensboro there. A friend of mine who use to live in the area and now is in Decatur, AL. will be coming up also. I went to visit him a week ago, and went to the Huntsville, AL heli event. They had everybody that was anybody there. Curtis, Jason, Alan, Marcus, etc...! It was a Great event. All these guys are nice and easy to talk to. And they all fly like a bat out of He!! I just set back and watched the carnage. Looking forward to flying with you guys.

Just returned from the field for a meeting about the event. Sounds like we are going to have quite a crowd. With Air Evac heli, ultralite heli shooting autos, fire department truck. Word is getting out in the community too. We have over 30 T-shirts preordered and will have a bunch made up for sale also. We will be serving up breakfast and lunch. A long time MC will be on the mic all day keeping the excitment going with random raffles and lunch gice aways. Raffle tickets for sale, but you never know, grease in a sweet blade stop or inverted auto, MC might just hand you a free one.

I'm getting pumped up over this one.
