Default Fury Question/s

I just fitted a GV-1 to my Fury and was wondering if most prefer to not use the gov in normal or to use it.

Also just to confirm, if I run 1750 headspeed with a YS80/8.45:1 gear ratio will this get me into the correct powerband of the engine?

Also do most tune the engine with or without the gov on?

Thanks,

Jeff

I use my GV-1 in all modes and I have mine set to be activated by my throttle position. I also have it on a switch if I want to turn it off which is what I do if I'm messing with tuning.

On a side note -- The headspeed you listed is about perfect. Some fly it with an 1800 rpm headspeed without problems as well -- try it both ways and see what you think.
S1 - Normal - 1600
S2 - IDLE 1 -- 1750
S3 - IDLE 2 -- 1800

I think Jon just about said it all. I don't see any point in not using the governor in all modes. You can always turn it off to check your curves.

Thanks, those are approximately the speeds I'm using. One thing that also seems to be happening is when I am upright and descending the gov seems to kick off and then when I raise the stick it comes back on.

Does the GV-1 have to have throttle curves ABOVE the set speed on the GV-1 amp?

It also seems like when it does come on line it seems a bit abrupt compared to my Raptors with TJ Pros. Is this normal?

Thanks again for the info.

Jeff

if you set the govenor up for throttle positon, it will be turning off in normal mode near the bottome...it has to.

Aslo, tune your engine with the GV-1 on. There is no point to have the govenor off while tunning the engine. if you do, your settings will not be right.

The reason to have the govenor active in all modes is so the engine does not over speed.

You can also set your idle setting up a little to between 15 anad 20. This way when the disk suddenly unloads the engine does not go all the way back to idle. You can do this on the screen where you set the high, low and idle setting. Set the high and low as you would normally but when you set the idle move the stick up a little from idle and then set. You can use the throttle curve screen on your radio while doing this to get a idea about where to set.
