This update is great and won't cause you to crash as long as you check and make sure all your settings are correct. It solved my 7hv wobble issue and I'm sure you will love it on your goblin as well.

I actually like the 6% collective deadband that's only when it's plugged into usb. It helps a lot during setup because instead of playing with your collective stick trying to make it perfect, you just need to get close and bam, 0 pitch

I like that, smart.
I use to make a Throttle curve for setup of 0, 50, 50, 50, 100. Problem was that one time I forgot to put the curve back to normal

Oh, come on!
There is already a version 4.01 listed on the download site.

And, this "new" version still does not have support for LCD.
Since there is no update to the release notes, I assume this version fixes the Rudder Setup wizard.

I guess I'll be sticking to the 3.40 code for quite a while still.
I know this comment may piss-off the Evangelists.

4.01 is only the Windows installation software, the firmware is still 4.0.

Not really. I haven't "lost" a heli due to a SW glitch in years.
The only thing I lose is the joyful experience of downloading and upgrading over and over. Some seem to enjoy that.

I will say 4.0 does feel more responsive. Every fbl unit gets updates. At least skookum don't make us psy gor every upgrade plus every software to tune them. 2 issues that came up for me was drift and tail kick. The tail kick was there before updating and I am almost positive it has more to do with me changing my gearing. The drift I think is going to take starting with a basic 3d setup from scratch. First I want to tedt it in less wind. If all that don't work I know georgi or xrayted will think of something I overlooked. Skookum support for the win.

PS... Art, Georgi deserves a new heli for all his hard work. A new rush 750 evolution with a 720be would show a little company love for the guy handling 80% of tech support. Sorry georgi I can't say (100%)

I saw alot of this in testing, and it's like the gyro's are self tuning, then after a flight or 2 it behaves perfectly every time, please try this!
At lunch time, I tried to fly my heli in windy field. I restored the original cyclic gain (58) and flew it at 2800 headspeed. No more vibration during the cyclic movement was seen. I flew 2 packs, same result. The only thing I did to the setup was to lower the Bell Gain by 2 from 45 to 43. I saw another post mentioned about wiggling during cyclic movement. Another member suggested to lower the Bell Gain a little bit. So I did that.

I saw another vibration now during spool up before governing speed was reached. Tail vibrating a bit until the target headspeed (in this case was 2800) was reached. I did not see this vibration last time I flew my heli. Could it be governor, ESC spool up or something loose mechanically ? Once the desired headspeed was reached, no vibration at all.

Thanks,

Ching-Ho Cheng

Just one thing for the bell gain - there is no connection between wiggling or such to bell gain, especially with low numbers as the ones you use:

when bell gain is too high - and this should be more then 70-80 at least - you will see some re-bound on hard cyclic stops. not wiggling.

wiggling means your total gain is too high...so lower that.

And between us - i can't fly a heli with bell gain numbers as low as yours - it feels like there is a big delay between the sticks and the heli, especially on fast stick changes like tic-tocs. so if you feel that go to around 50-60

Omer,

Thanks for the suggestion. I will try 50 bell gain.

Omer,

I tried Bell Gain of 50 this morning. Cyclic movement was quick; flowing the stick movement almost immediately.

Thanks.

don't look at the bell number as it is - the ratio bell/rate is what counts:

i use 70/310 on one setup - its the same as 55/240 in bell terms - the feeling of connection between the stick movement and the heli.

So we might be using the same numbers after all...

I do and did use 80/270 on my 600pro and something similar on my logo600 - for some reason that's what they need
