The big issue here is heat or more specifically the ESC's ability to dissipate heat. The FETs used in the Mezons can take the current loads. I have tested the Mezon 115 on 14s in a 700 class machine. I would not have a problem recommending it for sport flying / medium hard 3D but it can be overheated when pushed really hard. I have a modified version from Jeti that has some additional cooling features. I should have time to get some flights on it over the next couple of weeks. If all goes well it will most likely be rated at 130A and be suitable for most 700 class machines. For larger machines or ones that are going to be flown very hard the heat sinks need to be larger and or augmented with cooling air. Jeti will have larger Mezon ESC's later in the year.

Yeah, andersn, understand why You seek bigger ESC's

I have to thank You for a spectacular firework this weekend !!! Have never seen that kind of fountain of sparkling aluminum out of the side a Goblin before
And that was the biggest YGE...

Happy that You saved Your battery pack, and that Your weekend was saved by Your stock of Goblins

Truly sorry for Your loss, and pleased to see that You had a nice weekend after all !

Well... it was a bit over a fire, more along the "small explosion" lines it woke the guys sitting next to me on the table up pretty good.

not sure if it was the 16s, would probably have happend to 14s, or even 12s, who knows.

Reminds me of Castle cremation units. A guy at our field saw his 700 go down in smoke. No extinguisher in site either, no jet guys on site when you need one (was a helicopter only day for me)

Would be great if/when JETI have a direct competitor with the kosmik 200.

I have toasted a kosmik 200 - it just shut down mid flight, slight smokey smell, no fireworks, was repaired for free under warranty.

I read that ESC manufacturers don't like going above 14S, as this creates issues with high voltage regulations in many countries - require licenses etc.

So I am happy sticking with 14S, just as long as it can handle whatever amps I can throw at it.

so, any good Mezon options for a 14S Goblin 770, or would you be better off looking into other brands?

For me I wouldn't Anders my kosmik 160 seems to be on border line
With the 4530 450 motor. When I tested my 770 with pyro 800, it shut down on me 3 times n once was on 12s.

yes, also had shutdown on 160A kosmik, and none on 200A, but everyone rate their ESC different, I flew with lots of jeti users today (4 of them), 130A temps on 12s on 4530-540 was apparantly only around 70-80c on esc at 2050? headspeed, so seems impressive. .

But 4530 540 is less current hungry over the 450. I know that I might get shot for saying this but my experience is that lower kv will suck more current over higher kv running on the same cell count. This would lead me to believe that lower kv motor produce more torque
Over its higher kv siblings.
