Responded Ryan!
I have stopped for the evening. The FBL unit is now set up, as far as the cyclic/head goes. The KBDD EE Main Rotor Blades are installed and the collective and cyclic set up. The new geometry made the setup really easy (got 8 degrees on the Robird automatically-I suspect V-Bar users will be able to get their required 8 degrees, and BeastX users will get the "elusive blue light" at the desired 6 degrees with no problem). I will set up the tail tomorrow. Getting very close to being finished!

Yes Richard I got my 8° needed reference point on my vbar at 82 on the vbar scale. Vbar wants between 80-100 points on the cyclic reference slider. Perfection!!¡!!!

Very close now...
I thought I would have to stop as I did not realize I would need a DMSS satellite receiver extension until about three days ago. JR AMERICAS SHIPPED ME ONE IN TWO DAYS! So I am able to continue. I raised the gyro tray on spacers to get a bit more clearance for the rudder servo arm/push rod and to make some space to hide some of the wiring. Now down to finalizing FBL setup (and going through it one more time, step-by-step), mounting the antennae, programing the ESC, setting fail safe, going through the radios setup one more time, lubricating things, and range checking. I might get to test fly it tomorrow, if all goes well!

Almost done now!
BEC final installation is done: FBL unit is programmed and ready-usually I have to set up the settings in an FBL unit to prevent mechanical binding in a machine. The geometry is extremely good in the Chronos-I could not make it bind (not that I wanted to): Machine requires only setting of Fail-Safe, lubrication, and application of silicon spray to the belt! It should fly tomorrow: The model balances perfectly with no weight needed. This was one of the best models in terms of fit, finish, machining, etc. that I have ever assembled. I am anxious to compare it to the 7HV-U and my other models. Also looking forward to trying out the adjustable damping!

Nice, tidy, functional wiring, Ah Clem! Killer machine! If I didn't have already a terrific 7HV, and a YS 91SRX Tareq sitting here, I'd be a little more jealous
I do really like how the new canopy wraps around aft, and evelopes the frames. Not that some carbon showing is some sort of "heli porn"... (No, the Tareq isn't for the 7HV. I am not hacking up my flagship...I will await the opportunity to acquire the Chronos upgrades...)

Thank you for the kind comments, Rob!
That engine in a Chronos converted to nitro would be totally cool!

If I had a semi-functional brain when re-building my 7HV this season, I'd have offset the Mini Vbar on the mount like you did, Ah Clem. I have my wires coming in from the back, and off to one side might have clean routing easier to achieve.
I keep saying next time I build something like this machine where the ESC is a ways away from the servo bus strip, I am going to use conduit to carry the wires...

Thank you, Rob!
My ESC is, by the way, not mounted in the intended location. It gets quite hot here, during the summer, and I mounted my ESC on the left side/outside of the side frames, pretty much out in the breeze (like on my 7HV-U). It barely gets warm in this location, whereas my helicopters that have the ESC mounted up in front of the motor under the canopy, tend to get pretty warm.

I recalled your decision to do so on the original 7HV project. I've had only a couple of times in summer heat, and when running ludricrous head speeds that my Jive warmed up. Never enough in my case here in Michigan to be of concern. Plus, I can see that the Chronos canopy has cooling ports.
