Worth repairing this engine?
So I'm happy to report that my wife is now an RC heli pilot! She is now flying solo and practicing lazy 8's!
On the negative side, after she landed yesterday, the engine in her 700N quit suddenly, even though there was plenty of fuel left. I tried to restart the engine but it refused to start and it felt like I had no compression. After taking it apart, I realized what happened... can you spot the troublemaker? Anyway, that little ball bearing lost part of the chrome and it wreaked havoc inside the engine. Apparently, a little flake got caught between the piston and the sleeve and it gouged it pretty badly. You can see the piston is also scarred... So I'm assuming that the gouging on the sleeve is what killed the compression on the engine and that to fix this engine (91HP) I'll need a new sleeve, piston, and possibly the ring as well since there are small flakes embedded on the ring. So is it worth it to fix or just keep the 61G carb for spares? Fortunately, I still had my 91 3D Speed motor and I installed it... kinda overkill for a new pilot, but it will get her going again.

I would shop about and repair the engine, since your not in a rush to get it running I'd look at rc711 for the parts cheapest I found, then you'd have a spare thats like new. don't forget to run it in as such.
Plus use Align parts as there cheaper and made by OS. And congratulations on your wife's progress

Hey please don't forget to get a new set of bearings, Boca bearings last a long time and have shields on both sides to prevent FOD entering the engine. If it flakes on the last flight its gonna come apart on the next.

Or, send the block, crank and front bearing in to Magnum Fuels to get the Center Glide bearing installed in the rear, and never worry about the condition of your rear bearing again!
