Had a 16T crack on me few weeks ago about 50 flites on it, replaced it with a new one and had strange noise from it when I spooled up, took it off and the OWB rollers fell out. Just ordered two more. Hopefully I will have better luck with the next one's.

keyscrt,

Had two 16T pinions recently that would not "let go" of the motor shaft. Installed a 15T and it works perfectly.

I think there may have been a few sub-standard 16Ts out there.

Mine were both able to slide on and off the shaft without drama, but the OWB would stick on spool-down. I could force it to release by holding the motor while turning the main blades a bit by hand.

You could recondition the pinion if the OWB is broken. A Trex250 OWB is the same size. got a few cheap ones from HK for $1 and have one installed. I sanded the inside of the pinion a bit to widen it, but it still took a lot of force to get in. It seems machined too tight.
I think the cheap OWB will hold up just fine. It started to get smoother after a bit of test running on the bench.
Have a stock OWB at hand just in case. We shall see if i ever need it.
