Default Torco RC fuel and YS120SR or other engines...

Any feedback on this fuel? How does it work and preserve the engines (i.e rust, staining...)?

Has anyone tried it with a YS120SR engine? What is the % of oil in this fuel?

Probably no help here but I've never even heard of that fuel.

They have a rc fuel division. Quite cheap on ebay/Amazon considering hazmat tax.

Trying to figure out how to get cheap 15% for a ys120sr i am going to put on a 700. Lhs sells 15% nitro fuel 50% over the 30%...

I may end up using 30% nitro with 2 head shims which I hope would work and move on...

Thoughts?

Torco is very well known for their auto racing fuels. I have been using the Torco 30% nitro for over 5 years. They used to sell cases of 4 gallons via UPS with the HAZ MAT prepaid. Alas, this good deal is gone.

I've used Torco as well as Cool Power. The later which tends to stain the engine parts red. Torco contains a 22% lightweight synthetic lubricant in their 30% nitro blends. This was verified by Larry Manross, their VP of Sales.

When I raced 410 cu in Winged Sprint cars I used TWO 54 gallon drums a week-of 100% Methanol from March until October. I trusted their fuel in 900HP- $40,000 dollar race engines-you can trust it in your models, Its not widely carried by LHS's but is available through their website.http://torconitro.com/pro-rc-nitro.html

Great info, looks like their 15% has 20% oil.

Powermaster from A Main is only $19.16/gallon for 15%. It's awesome fuel and 23% oil.

PowerMaster is a VP product-also well known in the auto racing world. Its convenient for storage-METAL cans. 6 to a case.

I've been using Torco for a while now with really good results. They do still include shipping/hazmat fees in the price. I run the 30% in my OS55 and I've been running 20% in my 105 and plan on also running it in my 91SRX.

So i gave a try to the Torco 20% nitro (22% oil). The ys120 likes it. It doesn't smell as good as the CY Wildcat but it is less oily out of the exhaust. The only downside is that it leaves brown marks on the muffler.

Wow - Amazon and eBaY both are over $42/gal when I checked. That's crazy. Are you too far from a LHS to get some fuel that way? I've been able to buy CP30 for $110/case. Not a great deal, but not bad either. 20 min drive.

$106/case shipped...

I'm still running this in my 105 and my 120SRX and they're both running great. I've been adding some 2-stroke scented oil to mine to make it smell better.

With HAZMAT fees, not worth biying 1 gallon. I bought a case from ebay. Much cheaper than the insane $36 a gallon for rotor rage at my LHS...

My LHS only has heli fuel sometimes. I tried to order a case through them and, after waiting two weeks, finally got my money back because they only make fuel order when they hit a certain number of cases to order at once and they didn't know when that was going to be. They didn't bother telling me that when I pre-paid for the case that I wanted to order, though.

Turned out to be cheaper to order the Torco by the case, anyway, and it gets delivered right to my door instead of me having to go way out of my way to go pick it up.

Does it make brown stains on your muffler too?

I've had it do that when I had an exhaust leak or a fuel leak that splattered fuel on the muffler, yes.

I know this is an old thread. Can any of you guys that used Torco give an update on its quality? Everyone still satisfied with it? Thanks!

I stopped using them since they stopped giving me a discount. They also increased their prices and price is as much as what I can get RotorRage or Wildcat for so switched back to these. I was also tired with the stain marks on the muffler.
