Aha, that's an even better idea. I had only seen it happen on my Atom, but it's an electric so I didn't even think of the silicone. I don't have nearly as many flights on my bigger ships as on the Atom because I've had it for like 3+ years. Guess I'm falling behind pretty badly with my flying.

Thanks for the tip in gooping the servo nuts. I'll have to do that after my first crash because those front ones weren't easy at all to get started.

Couldn't find any Goop on my last trip to Walmart. Where do you buy yours? I have shoe goo because I heard it referenced on some other thread awhile ago, but after running a few tests am not happy with its performance.

Does the clutch replacing tip apply to the Knight as well?

I get mine at menards. I get a huge tube of "household goop" it's in a reddish purple type tube and is about size of a tube of toothpaste give or take. Shoe goop is thicker and I don't like that. Plus it costs like 2-3x as much when you factor in the large tube gives you alot more for the same price. I've tried a few "goops" and settled on this one .
Brand is Amazing Goop I think. Pretty sure it's near the paint section, and they have a few different types of goop in that aisle. The cornacopia of goop lol.

Thanks John, yes I saw the Goop tube in your video I just couldn't find any at Walmart or a couple smaller hardware stores I happened to be at. Looks like a stop at Menards next time I'm on the east side.

For the time being I've found an alternate way to secure the servo wire but it looks as though goop has a million and one uses and is an essential toolbox item.

Nice job on the videos BTW.

On my Atom, the screws are so small and typically don't punch through the boom very well (or strip out) so the tail case ended up being wobbly (usually up and down movement around the pivot point of the screws). Just take a couple drops of medium CA around the crevice at the front of the case and it will hold it nice and tight so the load isn't entirely placed on the screws. When you go to fix or repair/replace anything on the tail, the CA will break off with a light tap or twist of the boom. Scratch off the residue and re-apply as needed. Works like a charm!!!
Gonna do that as I do I hope the final preflight on this thing..... good idea. Gotta say I like this 4011 tape as opposed to the stock MB stuff, it is like a rock on there now....

John (are you still a Compass guy) or other Compass Team Pilots

This was such a good idea, just checking to see if you are still willing to help a few of us lonely Compass owners who don't have a club to fly with.
