Eagletree w/GPS on 8s or higher
On the eagletree website when you look at the information for the GPS expander, it says
"NOTE: if you plan to use the GPS with your eLogger with 8S (approximately 30V) packs or higher, the Battery Backup Harness (CAB-BAT-BACK) below is required." I plan to run this system on my trex 600 w/ a 10s setup. Does this mean that I need to get this backup harness with a separate battery and the battery backup harness? I actually plan to use a 3s 450mah battery for the camera. If I need to use a separate battery for the elogger, can I just use a Y connector to plug into both the camera and the elogger so that I won't have to use two separate small batteries? Will 450 mah be enough? Thanks |

3s will be too much voltage for the eLogger (it should be 4.5v to 6v). But how do you power your RX? You can share that power source with the eLogger when you are using the battey backup harness because you run >= 8S. Connect the battery backup harness to an unused RX channel or use a Y cable.

uh??? What version of the elogger do you have that doesn't take avobe 6v? I didn't even know Eagletree made such a thing.
3s 450 mAh is probably too low. I wouldn't choose anything blow 600-800 (give yourself room to test, goof around, etc). Quote:

My answer is in the context of OP:s question, i.e., regarding the battery backup harness, the backup battery or other power source you use with this should be max 6V.
