Default Beware of CF frame

The stock CF frame fell apart on me during flight last week and resulted in a bad crash(total rekit). I was doing a tail slide with an inverted punchout when I heard the motor rev as if the main gear stripped or the pinion is slipping. Tried autoing it, landed with a thud. post crash inspection revealed multiple point of CF frame failure on the mounting bolt holes of the motor mount(near the main gear) along the concurrent bolt holes going down the frame. Further inspection showed the main gear is intact(stock one), both landing gears are intact, bent bottom plate, notchy main gear bearings, cracked battery wrap. I forgot to take pics and threw the airframe into the trashcan in my disgust. I now am flying with a new kit with aluminum frame for now. The CF frame is very weak along the bolt holes of the motor mount, lower bearing block and lower frame assembly. Always check this pints for some craks to prevent future incindent.

Wow thanks for the heads up. Sounds like it may be best just to keep the metal ones. How much weight savings does the CF frame offer anyway? I have some CF frames laying around but never put them on...

Not much because you have to get the aluminum washers for the frame bolts...about 50 grams weight savings.
