Just my opinion on "Nodding"
Flying these wonderful machines for 41 years, I have learned three things that can cause what I call "nodding:" Phasing or lack of does not cause nodding. (but a poorly phased model will not feel right) However if we add a three axis stabilizer this can exist because the model head and the stabilizer are out of sync. An example of this could be an improperly orientated gyro system or the head phasing off a little to the gyro. Electronic adjustment of the head phasing to match the gyro will often solve the issue or realignment of the gyro to the existing phased head. Another thing is that the head dampeners are to hard for the main rotor speed. I am not sure I have a very good reason as to why but but in the pre 3 axis days softening the head dampeners or increasing the head speed always solved the nodding. The third is that the static or aerodynamic tracking is just not correct. I still very accurately check the static tracking of every model. Even in todays wonderful CNC world of machining, parts can be wrong. In a recently purchased model I found the static track to be off 3/16 of an inch. Not Good. The manufacturer replaced and all was well. Hope you solve whatever issues you have an enjoy our wonderful hobby! Dave

With perfect phasing, the pitch gauge should read 0° as you move the elevator stick up and down. None of my helis have perfect mechanical phasing, but still fly well.
