Default removing motor shaft

Hi all,

I have decided and purchased a scorpion 2010kv for running 4s lipo. I found a site with a good price for $53 + shipping. I'm trying to switch the short motor shaft from the stock 2580 to the new motor for the Mini P, and put the long shaft from the new motor in the 2580 motor for my Mini Titan for running 4s as well.

I can easily remove the long shaft from the 2010kv motor. However, I cannot get the short shaft from the 2580 motor. The 2 grep screws are already removed. I tried the freeze and heat method and that didn't work. I don't see any more grep screw needed to be removed. Any idea what is holding the shaft?

Also, since I can't remove the short shaft, is it ok to switch the 2580 outer can along with the short shaft to the 2010 inner part? The inside of the outer can of the 2580 and 2010 look the same. Both have 6 magnets and the size of the magnet looks the same as well.

Thanks in advance.

I got the idea from this vid:

I happen to have a bar clamp around:
http://www.harborfreight.com/36-inch...amp-38184.html

I took a wooden block and drill a whole that I can stick the motor with shaft in, similar to what the gentleman did when he laid the motor with the shaft onto the press. I then scarified a 3.0mm hex driver by cutting it out for about 2 inches long. Again, similar to what he did with the philip head screw driver.

Then I slowly turned the clamp by pointing the hex driver at the other end of the shaft between the clamp. It was really tight. I had to turn slowly and eventually, I was able to press the shaft out.

btw, I got an reply email from scorpion regarding interchanging the outer cans between the 2 motors:

Dear Thomas

Thank you for your email, both motors have the same structure and construction. Therefore, it will not be a problem to switch the 2580kv outer can that is with the short shaft to the 2010kv inner part.\\

Best Regards

Richard
