Default 401 problem

I had a problem with my 401 today that I'd never seen before. In a turn hard to either side it would fight it. It It would make a sound like the tail was skipping through the air. In order to get it to stop I had to turn my gain down to 50%. It was at 75%. I don't see any other changes in the heli. Any one have an Idea what might cause this.

Yea, I thought maybe it was too thin. So I doubled it up and it is still doing it. It hunts anything over 50%. I might try and move my engine. I have got a high speed vibration there that seems to be worse after I pulled my engine to work on it. I don't think I have it lined up as best I could.

Check for any binding in the tail linkages. It must be as smooth as possible. And definately make sure the gyro hasn't worked loose. Your gain is also kind of high. What servo are you using?

9253 on the tail. And it is mounted on the tail. Just have a carbon fiber rod running to the back. 50% is high for the gain you think? Just reattached it with some double sided tape about 4 pieces of it all pilled up on each other to give it a little cushion. Thinking of maybe some Velcro taped to it to help isolate it from the engine vibration.

The 401 is internally dampened and too much tape is actually detrimental. You can glue that sucker to the frame (if you didn't have to get it off once in a while) and it would work just as well.

Your servo might be going bad. I usually run my 401's around 60%. Check to see if the wire is chaffed anywere and that all the connections are good. Your engine may also be a little lean causing it to hunt.

I'll try that. I switched some things around and If they don't work then I'll try this.
