That's a pretty broad question. Which particular settings are you interested in?

Too vague a question to answer, but the Align and MSH Brain manuals covers most of the 'settings' needed to get the heli in the air. I'd suggest that you read the manuals thoroughly, then come back if there are specific points that you arent sure of.

If you dont mind me asking.. Whats' your experience level like with helis? A big heli like this is really only suitable for someone with a fair amount of RC heli experience. They can be very dangerous if you arent 100% sure of what you are doing.

Here's an idea. Why don't you try posting your question instead of riddles? You made two posts that were a waste of time, when you could have just posted your question to start with

I' ve got a question. What do you think of the new upgrade of ALIGN which uses a bigger motor 750MX and Castle Edge 80HV? Isn't the speed controller too small for the motor? I'm flying 3D.

Best regards,
Valentin

Nope. I just put an HV80 in my 600 with a Scorpion 4035-530Kv motor. 80A is fine with an HV setup.

The align 750MX is rated to do up to 145 amp peaks!

Motor rating and motor draw are very different.

I fly a quantum, my average current draws are around 40a, and peaks are in the 120-130 range. The 80hv can handle up to 160a burst currents

So why do they put a 120amp esc in a 700 model if the 80A can handle it? It had bigger blades but if the motor can't draw more than the peak current of a 80a ESC what's the point in putting a 120?

Simple. Bigger blades, more drag=more load on motor. Heavier heli, more drag=more load on motor.

A motor's amp rating is based on the highest load the motor can handle continuously without overheating etc. Think of a car. Lets take the the Bugatti Veyron. This car is capable of producing 1000 hp. Do you think that much energy is being used at idle? at 25mph? at 65mph? No no and no. That much power is only produced when the motor is at certain RPM, with certain loads on it, with specific throttle values. Much the same as your heli motor.

Not only that but I think the 700s are running 850mx motors now.

Yes i agree with you but the 600 can and will use all the power of the 750 and even if you put a 800 class motor . The castle 80 will handle it with a bit more heat i think because i run a 600mx and the ESC is getting quite hot.

What do I know? Better put a 160 in there.

Check your logs. They'll tell you what you need to know. Hover amps of a 700 are higher than a 600 in my experience. If you are "using all the power" of the 750mx you may need to manage collective/cyclic better.

At 2500hs with newbie collective management, and my attempts at 3d, I occasionally have a panic bailout, where I need to roll fast and punch collective. Now that my heli is set up correctly the highest I've spiked is 130a. Averages are usually below 40a depending on how hard I fly it.
