GoPro woes

As reported previously, I was experiencing some issues with my GP2.
When recording, it would stop after 15-30 seconds!

I fiddled with the battery, thinking it was a corosion issue on the posts, not that.
Checked the voltage, all good there.

Pulled my hair out, as I have a new brushless gimbal on it's way. What good would the new gimbal do if I had no camera to fly?

Today before work, I hooked it up to the computer again, thinking maybe it had something to do with the new firmware I had reciently installed.

Before going there, I was looking at the storage space on the disc, pretty much empty, I keep the vid's on the computer not the card.
Double clicked on the icon and reformated the card.

Damn thing works perfect now!

Went to GP site and did some research, sure enough, found a section there talking about that.
Seems the card will get artifacts that can cause this problem.

Thought it might be a good idea to pass this along for others to remember.

had the same problem with my 808 keyfob camera and the answer was the same just format the card.strange ay ??

Nice one Tom. Thanks for sharing. You never know if this might crop up for others of us, and having read this could be a God send. Might apply to my GPH3, who knows, so thanks again.

Thanks, Tom, for sharing this. These things have a way of sneaking up on you when you least have time to deal with them, so any extra knowledge on the subject can turn out to be priceless

I've also had the same issues with my GP2. I tried different memory cards/formatting/firmware updates and eventually got an RMA#. GoPro acknowledged there was a issue with the GP2 in manufacturing and sent a replacement.
