Sullivan with finer edge Makita 18v drill batt conversion. It's the last starter you sill ever need. I have an Align and it works well for my OS 55. I also have a Sullivan with a 4s 4000 mah batt as a backup in case the align dies or I get a 700.

It looks like they come with that cup setup. What are you using as a shaft coupler ?

What is wrong with the align?
Just bought one for the 700.
I tested it before from a buddy and it worked good.

For very cold temperatures i use a 120 starter on 20Nicads.

Love the align starter. 40 degrees outside and fires my 55 in one whirl!! Loving it!

i use a hobbico 180 on a 4s 5000 starts my 50,55,37 no prob and dont have to charge but once every month or two. as far as the cup goes i removed it and bought a maverick starter shaft with a one way. and shimmed the difference in size on the shaft coupler to the motor shaft with brass tube.

I use a Hangar9 HD starter with a 3s lipo, starts my 105 like a 37...

clip the leads off of the starter and leave enough to solder on a deans connector. Velcro a 3s 2200mah lipo to the starter, connect the deans, go fly (half the summer before you need to charge...)

I also hate using a cup adapter, so I use the coupler that bolts to the starter shaft...

+ a million on this one. When other folks starters at the field are dead, or wont crank that huge displacement (whatever) that's being balky... out comes the sullivan / finer edge / makita.

Besides, its an excuse to buy another drill, because you have the batteries and charger...
