Thanks for verifying my suspicions. There's been much speculation around this topic and I hadn't seen any hard data. Can you post the trace from the scope?

Well I've put my storage scope and a DAQ sampling unit on a cyclic servo during the whole power up sequence and there's never anything but the correct signal pulse widths. Repeated many times. Only tried digital/digital (111 and 333 Hz refresh and 1520us center).

So either;

A. My unit doesn't do it (a ZYX, not a clone)
B. Not applicable to ZYX (maybe the -S only?)

I have a -S but it's not installed on anything atm and I don't want to flash my CX unit to ZYX. Umm, just had a thought....is it a particular cyclic output that alway fails? Maybe I just checked a good cyclic channel....might check others later.

it's #2. This only applies to the ZYX-S, as it is the only version with a quad mode.

Doesn't the ZYX now support quads with the new firmware? Don't have one to test with.

That's a good question. I'm not sure.

Cant use the SW Version 4.0 on my Rex250 with an MKS DS480 tail servo.
The servo is not working at all, unless it is plugged in after boot up of the ZYX-S.
Sad, I have to switch back to V3.50. With the V3.50 it works. It would be nice to get a 4.xy Version that works with this servo. Does anybody know a work around?
Cheers

Is there something that I can tweak to help the pitch-up in FFF? I'm running 4.01 with the cx zyx on my 450. this firmware upgrade is great except for pitch-up in FFF.

You need the 4.02 firmware, however it hasn't been released for the ZYX yet, just for the ZYX-S and that is "unofficial"

Use firmware v4.00. It can be downloaded from the RCG thread on "PC software for the ZYX".

Today I flew with v3.5 (on a T600N) for the last time.
I've been overall extremely happy with it, this ZYX unit is awesome!
Only just a few odd behavior I could not get rid of are :

Tail slightly drift with torque on ele tictocs
Slight pitching up on FFF
Hovers are a bit "jumpy" on collective

Hopefully v4.01 will solve some of those. Will report next WE
BTW I also ordered the BT dongle and this is relly sweer!

I've been running my ZYX (not -S) with firmware 2.5 for a year now on my 450 Pro.

I'd like to upgrade it to the latest firmware. I believe that is 4.01, from a look at the RC Groups software thread.

I remember there were some suggestions by Dr M when upgrading to 3.5, for gain adjustments to make.

Do those still apply? Are there other watchouts that I need to be aware of? It's flying very well at the moment, I'm leery of disrupting it, but I've heard good stuff about the v4 firmware, so I'd like to give it a shot. Just want to minimize the risks.

Thanks.

The only thing you have to change is cyclic D gain. If it's higher than 10, set it back to 10, otherwise leave it alone.

IDK. Connect it to the Tarot v4 app and it'll tell you which fw it's running.

Alright! Flew both my 450 and 600N with ZYX upgraded to v.4 and all my previous issues were gone, just a little tiny bit of bouncyness on stationary hovers.
Also I had to back up 10 points on the roll ang pitch gains in advanced menu.
Great stuff!

Make sure your looking at the ZYX firmware and not John's PC software version (his current popularly used version is 1.22...the reason I pointed this out).
