Looks like green locktite is needed. In Mercuriels (sp?) build on a similar heli, green was specked in a number of locations. Seemed frustrating at the time, but I contacted him later, and he responded that it was for sure a keeper. These parts are small, but play is not a friend of any helicopter. The heat gun or soldering iron method of removal works. I would much rather do a little extra work in replacing bearings than have a costly (and potentially dangerous) crash because I wimped out on a little loctite. My thoughts as a certified aircraft mechanic. Randy

Bob,

I am using the same Hitec gyro you used here and I cant seem to get the gin high enough to feel locked in. I am using a JR9503 and a ar6100 receiver. With the "Gear" travel set all the way up to 150% I still cant get any tail twitch. I usually add gain till the tail twitches and then back off a little but I cant seem to get enough. I can get the gyro to go in and out of heading hold from my gear switch and the gain seems to be working from the travel menu. Any Ideas?

To be honest, that gyro just didn't do it for me either. It's an OK gyro on the cheap and can take you pretty far but other than that.... Well... It's just an OK gyro!

Best I can say.

Thanks Bob, Thinkin It may just be as good as it gets at this point. Wish it worked half as good as my old 401s do

after almost one year since I bought my Beam, finally maiden-ed it today... two pack of hovering and everything was perfect!

Thank you Bob for your Beam build videos as well as you Hitec A9 videos, among many.
Your work allowed a totally new to RC "Anything" to build, adjust & program a new kit heli from scratch and fly it without any incidents...

Just AWESOME!

Default Uneven blade pitch?

How can the pitch range be different on one blade vs the other?

Both center at 0
one blade has 12.5 (give or take .1) on both positive and negative
The other has 11.5 (give or take .1) positive and negative.

What can cause that??

My bet is your miss reading the pitch guage and have the flybar tipped a little. Even a slight tip of the flybar will cause a pitch misread. Are you rotating the head to read pitch? e.g. read one blade, rotate the head and read the other?

Bottom line if when you hover the blades are tracking, then your misreading the pitch.

Must be misreading... I took it out and hovered two packs, tracking is spot on and it hovers nice and steady, except for some wind gusts.

Thanks Bob
