Default Turnigy AE45A Gov. setting

Could some one answer this for me? Running Turnigy AE 45A esc, with parkfly 2632,
Lynx 136 slant gear with 11T pinion and DX6i tx. The AE 45 has governor ON and governor OFF, I would presume with governor ON that the head speed can be set to a value? How do I do that? I can't see or feel any difference running governor ON or OFF! at the moment running with gov. OFF and 65% flat throttle curve. Am I missing something here. Note; still a beginner on hover only. I am sure there must be a simple answer.
Thanks in advance. Peter

AE45A ESC runs similar if not the same firmware as stock Align 35A ESC. Both ESC governors suck the same. The reason I pick AE45A ESC is that it can be flashed with BLHeli firmware which governor is very good and IMO is a hair better than YEP.

If you want to run governor, don't settle for some crappy governor like stock Align/AE45A firmware governor. Here's some good read to start learning BLHeli (1st few posts).

Achim (4712) did a good job creating/maintaining BLHeliSetup tool to make working with BLHeli and finding BLHeli-related documents much easier.
