Default TREX 600 LIVE and UNCUT - with crash eval!

OK here is a video you might be interested in!

A Trex600 flown by Andy Yu which is no "hot pilot" and this might give you an idea how the average Joe might fly and how it sounds!

Nothing against Andy's flying skills as he is a good pilot but this is AVERAGE collective management not Szabo style!

Bonus! He crashed due to a radio problem which is believed to be the RX....

Anyway enjoy this UNCUT LIVE video....

Here is the video:
Trex 600 basic flying with end flight temps (38 Megs)

Man, that's some tough frame. So all he needed is
1. main gear
2. Flybar
3. Blades
4. Main shaft (probably).

Not bad at all.

Wow, very interesting.

What was the flight time?

The first flight only lasted around 2.5 minutes but he was already flying when it started. The second flight lasted roughly the same but was cut short by the crash.

What kind of flight time can we expect the average flyer (like Andy) could get?

--- wishing I can fly as well as Andy!

All that does for me is further prove, that since I'm nowhere near that skilled of a pilot.......that stock 600 will be more than enough for me, with my below average skills.

Awesome.......nasty looking crash, tough bird!

We was not a "bad" pilot by any means.

I think he showed excellent collective management for the front flips that he apparantly has mastered (nice, but got pretty boring after the first 20)

If the rx locked out, wouldn't the motor have shut off?

That is the hard thing when you have a new heli, hard to resist the temptation to set the pitches, a straight line T-Curve and go fly without tweaking the radio completely. Very hard to resist when you are in a hurry.

I know that to some that may look like Average joe flying,,, If that is the case I must be one rather poor specimen for a Heli pilot... :? Maybe someday when i get a few hundred hours under my belt..

Impressive video Bob..

Thank You...

Heheheh poor Andy... I hope he doesnt get mad at me for calling him average.
My intent was to say he does not have the super human collective management skills that a Szabo or a Krause has. Maybe I should say Average 3D pilot?

Ok, just so you guys know, this was an older version of the motor, which has since been changed (new one has more power) and yesterday i discovered that there was a lot more gear noise than normal because of a bad pinion. It is much quieter now.

Well I have to admit that seemed better than some of the other videos I have seen.

Did they change the gearing any?

It seemed to load up pretty fast, but the headspeed sounded consistant. You sure could hear that motor working though especially with those noisy gears.

I would be real interested in seeing some AMP draws on it during flight.

I have a suspicion that you will cook batteries in that at 6s unless you are running the higher 20C cells and watching your flight times closely.

It will be interesting to see what people do with these.

After the first flight segment which I know was not long, the battery pack (6 packs taped together) were jsut bearly warm.... Way cooler than my Trex450 packs run. So I dont think at this point your going to puff packs.

Hopefully Andy will bring it out again this weekend for another video shoot! Maybe even me flying it for REALLY average skills

I guess average 3D pilot would be a more accurate statement. . Can he fly backwards yet?

Bob,
Where those the newer 20C packs though?

My feeling is that the amp load is pretty high on that thing.
I am just wondering if the 10 and 15C cells will be up to it.
