Everything was ok for my YS91SR also except the fact..
that the copper ring which attached on the upper position of the sleeve
was bigger than the diameter of the head's flange so ..
it was not sealed completely flat and I had a small oil leak just underneath the spark plug.
I kept running the stock head ...
Now I think of removing a small part of the outter perimeter of the copper flange to test again the head..

Does the sleeve fit ok ?

I mean if the sleeve fits perfectly so it is not a machining problem. Sometimes the shims doesn't seat perfectly and it gets squashed in between with a consequent leak. It happened on my stock SR once.

The nice thing about this head is that it works on the old SR and the new 3DS

Yes it fits. I installed it on one of my 3DS and it works just fine. Haven't flied it too much since I was on vacations and my ENV is waiting some spares. The few flights I made I was running a rich mid, this head delivers a bit more power on mid.

And I have to check RPMs since the ENV has 8.12 instead of 8.21 of the T700.

Hi, I'm looking for a dual plug head for my ys 91 SR and am told the Viper head is not a good fit with the new YS engines. Can anyone here recommend one or have one for sale?

thanks,

John

You can get a smoother running engine

You can use two different heat ranges - makes the idle really smooth on one plug and the stunt mode really smooth on the other plug

Some argue that it's also a bit of a safety against a flame out due to loosing the plug in flight
Indeed:

In the old days we used dual plug heads on the OS50
We never noticed any benefit

It's only on the 90's that we noticed benefits

I assume it would work well on the OS105/YS120

Why is that it benefits only 90 size and not 55
