I did provide him with a set of Screaming Orange KBDD Paddles, which he seemed to like very much on his Velocity.
If I had had one more set of KBDD tail blades with me, I would have given them to him (sadly he was still using those "old-fashioned" CF tail blades that people used to use. I was able to provide Skiddz with a set of Blinding Yellow KBDD tail blades for his Turbine (another CF to KBDD upgrade). Sadly, he did not fly it again after that. The Turbine was incredibly impressive in flight, but would have been even more so with the KBDD tail blades.

Yeah the KBDD paddles were quite nice, let me tell you. Kevin found the problem with his turbine - the set screw had kinda broken apart and the hub was being held to the output shaft by luck.
I wanted to keep flying, Richard :-) I got 2 cases of outrage fuel on the way and Jason Bell gave me a good price on a case of rotor rage master's blend yesterday. I plan to go back to my gallon a day, (almost) everyday flying like I did when I first had my Velocity with that NR57 engine. I think I need to learn how to make the fuel on my own.. do it in 50 gallon drums. |

Viper,
South Windsor huh, I moved to Florida in 2000 from New Britain, I don't miss the cold anymore We're running the same engine but I just put the pressure system on it, the pimp juice will tend to make the engine run a bit cooler and it will smoke pretty good, that's ok the engine has no problem making HP even when run a tad rich, we typically put our fingers on the backplate to verify it isn't getting too hot, but down here these days it's 100 degrees out, I would say 220-230 and you should be right on the sweat spot.

I don't temp ours so don't push the 220 mark, 200-210, just talking with SteveL on the phone now

OS will run hotter than YS when tuned for power.
Usually on the OS they will be at 220-235 at the fins just below the head. The YS's typically are about 185-200 |
