I have an optical (homemade) in the Freya and magnet (stock) in the EVO and Shuttle. I would go with the magnet. On the EVO it's easy to fix the very slight imbalance it causes. The fan already has a cutout for the magnet and it's directly across from one of the screws that holds the fan to the hub. I just used a slightly longer screw in the hole opposite the magnet. Problem solved. But I doubt it would make much difference if you didn't bother to do that.

Clean the hole with some acetone on a Q-tip and use 30 minute epoxy and the magnet will not come loose. Ever.

Other than this little glitch, the TJ has been very reliable. And if you do ever have a problem with it, Model Avionics is as good as, if not better than, Jeff Green when it comes to fixing problems.

HeliProz is the exclusive distributer for Model Avionics products. So anybody you order it from will be getting it from them. Mac has an account with them (HeliProz) and can oder anything they carry (such as Maverikk blades). So I would let Mac get it for you (he needs to start stocking them anyway). He'll at least match the HeliProz price and probably save you on shipping.
