Trex 500 Frame (need one side)
My heli has aluminum bottom frame, Rx tray, battery tray, bearing blocks, tail boom block, anti-rotation bracket, and of course motor mount. All of these have stainless bolts that vary in size. I would like to get a frame side to put the hardware in the correct location when I need to pull the side off. This way I can take each bolt out and put it in the corresponding hole. I really dont want to buy a frame set, as I really only need the one side. Any ideas on where to get just one side?

It sounds like what you are looking for is a look-alike holder for removed bolts to properly correlate where they came from. Great idea.
Since a real frame set will run you about $65, why not just cut out or draw a "similar" shape on plywood or card stock?

Thats exactly what I want to do! I thought about making a plywood cut-out and if it comes to that, I will. I think having a "real" side would make for a real nice set-up.

Here ya go.. cheap.. they sell them individually..Not an align product, but from what I've read these Tarrot parts are 100 percent as good as align.. I may try them when I manage to ball up my new 500 ESP..

Once you pull it apart a couple times it won't matter. You'll be able to pick the right screw with your eyes closed.

Thanks geardaddy. I was thinking one side would have been a little cheaper. I might have to rethink the plywood idea. I would think someone has broke a frame and has a side laying around.

Well I am no Bob Vila, but I had a left-over piece of wood laminate so I used it to make my holder for my frame screws. It took about 10min to make, at no cost.

With bolts having several lenghts, this makes it easy to make sure I put everything back in the right spot. As the saying goes: necessity is the mother of invention.

You're halfway to a brand-new wooden helicopter. Dowel for a tail boom...
Don't stop now! LOL. No, seriously. Nice job.
