Default Low Headspeed

Anyone here ever run their Diabolo at low headspeed with 700 size blades? If so what was your set up? I have Rail 716 mains and I am thinking about running at low headspeed just to do something different, 16T pinion 4525-520 Jive 120 HV.

I think plankdriver ran his Diabolo 700 at 1000 rpm. There was a video of it.

try it, but there are better helis for low rpm in my opinion...

i personally don't like headspeeds below 1600 on the diabolo

The Triabolo is great at about 1375 but it's not really a direct comparison because of the three blades.

Just put a single 6s pack in it, turn your tail gain to 100% and go have fun. No other changes needed.

This is pretty much the same advice I got when running my Tri800 on a single pack earlier. Man, all I can say is cyclic management is def needed when doing this. My biggest issue was tail authority. I ended up adding in an RcTek tri rotor tail. Which handles anything still using smaller blades.

Jay 1750 is a blast and flight times increase significantly! With your setup and the 16t pinion will be perfect for the Jive at that HS

Danny is the one who talked me into trying it on my Tri and deserves all the credit for my own experience.
I did have to go back in and change my gov settings with my Skookum and also program my Yge to run on 7s instead of 14 in my case. I also played with my Jeti and ran the throttle at 100% without any gov.

Essentially did what F1 Rocket descrived, used a 6S pack in a 12S setup for 2000rpm, so it yields 1000rpm.
Is fun like walking on eggshells, for over 10minutes.

I have the exact setup you describe, except I use the NHP 742's.

"Non calibrated" Jive gives me headspeeds from 1350 - 1700 rpm.
Flat 35, 45, 55, 65% throttle.

I've also bolted on Rotor Tech 720mm "SG" F3C blades, they are also not as wide as the NHP's, and I really had to "catch" the heli with the collective at 1350 HS, when flipping inverted.
Not an issue with the NHP's.

I mostly fly in ID1 / 45% th.

Cool thanks for the info, I had the 742's at one time but crashed and have not ordered anymore...

Made the first few flight the other day with lower headspeed, 1578, 1748, and 1784. I need to adjust my TC some to lower them all a bit, collective management is more crucial so taking it easy for now. I did get over 10 minutes flight time at 1578!!!
