AR6100e replacement RX?

Recently the stock AR6115e receiver went bad. When looking at the 450 3D parts page an AR610 was listed as the replacement DSMX rx. At my lhs, this looked like a nightmare to install with all the connectors sticking up instead of out the back. So he gave me an AR6100e rx. Is this right? It's a DSM2 compatible rx and I can read through the package that it doesn't work with a DX6 tx. I have a DX6i but plan on a new DX6 soon and it needs to fly my 450. Is there a better choice for replacing my bad rx?

Also the price he charged was $49.99. I found I can buy these all day long on eBay for under $20.00.

I would definitely return it, based on your desire to go to a DX6. You would need a new receiver anyway. As long as you haven't opened the package, it shouldn't be a problem. Also, there are other receivers you can get that have the wires on the side/back. You may need to get a 7 channel receiver though, and it will be slightly more expensive.
