Default To use RX or just go through FBL?

Hey guys,

So this is my first heli build ever, I have gone with a Skookum SK540 FBL unit. I am deciding whether I should just plug my satt straight into that or whether I should use my AR8000 RX as well and use the telemetry features. Only thing is with the SK540 it's a lot of stuffing around to make wires to go from the AR8000 to the SK540. ALso would love it if some people could post some photos of where they mounted their FBL units and RXs.
I'm still a complete noobie to this. Was thinking of mounting the SK540 on the boom block just cuz it looks good

I would def just go with sats.
Less wires, less points of failure.
The telemetry is not worth it, set the timer and fly!

Thanks a lot Rossco you have confirmed what I was thinking. At first the Telemetry sounded great but it's just too much darn hassle with this setup!

You can still use telemetry without a RX, just not the signal stats (fades/holds). Pull the orange wire from the plug to the TM unit and plug it into an empty slot on the brain (for power). You will need to activate bind mode on them separately (but at the same time).
