Nice flying. Love the S8 machines - unique heli and very high quality. True 800. Mind sharing some specs on it? Motor, ESC, gear ratio, headspeed? Just curious.

How does it feel in the air compared to other stuff you've tried?

I actually wanted to pick one of these up a while back, but got a nice deal on a Vibe Ito airframe I built and never pursued the S8 further. But I was a big fan of the main frame structure - motor in the back, ESC housed inside the frames, servo layout etc. The boom seems a little bit thin though IMO.

I am very happy with all aspects of the model. The boom is supper cool and strong enough for what I am doing. I have seen Timo throw down on this machine and think the boom is good.

As for my setup I am running the following

Hacker Turnado 470KV w/13t Pinion
Castle Creations Edge 160HV
Gear Ratio 130/13 = 10.00:1 1850 HeadSpeed.

I really like how this flies! Very happy with it.

Hey jc. I Want to thank you for All your good advise. I finished mine today and i am very Happy with The result. One problem though! Can't get The 140 swashplate option in The new vbar control :/ - do you know if it would work to go with 135 degrees? The vbar does have that option. Anyway i double cheched everything and should be ready for maiden

Hello Martin,

Glad your liking your Shape S8.

I will have to ask about the FBL Unit not supporting the 140 swash. I am not sure.

Default Shape S8

I choose
Pyro 800-40
Kontronik kosmik 200a
Mks 950+980 servos
14 tooth pinion and 12s
Xblades 807mm and 116mm on tail.
I'm using vbar silver with vcontrol.
I'm Aiming for 1200/1500/1850 rpm. Might give The 14s a try gives more room for The guvernor. But awesome machine. Love it!

not fair dude, ur xxtreme is a stretched. the actual xxtreme is much bigger than the 700xx. Nonetheless, the s8 is still a fantastic heli and u have top of the line setup.
