Hi
Anybody using the gens ace 5300 packs on the exxtreme ? Is the extra 300 noticable and how do you like the performance ?

Back to the OPs question

I used the 5300 and the 5000 gens ace packs before going to 14S. I love gens ace...( and Love revolectrix too)

Do the math. On a 5000 mah hour pack, your going to use 4000 mah in order to land with 20 percent in the pack

300 mah decided by 4000 mah is ..075... Your flights will be 1.075 times longer using a 5000 pack than a 5300 pack.

On a 4 minute flight, you'll get close to 20 seconds more. Is that a big deal? To some, pilots, yes,

To me... No.

Also there isn't much room to slide packs rearward on an 7000. The biggest 7s pack I could use is the gens ace 4400, which has the same energy density as a 5000 mah.

Mine was nose heavy with the 5300 6s cells., I think they were 60 C. Balanced perfect with 5000 gens ace, with the packs all the way back.

If you want really long flighttime, Thunderpower makes 6sx6000 70C packs that fit the Logo700 and the heli balances fine. Of course they are heavier than 6sX5000 but the 700 handles the weight ok. Jacob used them to get more flight time in one of his routines in XFC this year.

Those are really nice packs, but they're only going to increase flightime by 20%, not taking into account the added weight....or am I wrong ? I also wondering which are the reasons to choose extra flightime over less weight for competition flying.

All 5300 gens packs (multiple users) went bad at our field. No problems with the 5000 gens.

I would use 5000

The 5300/30C gens are rated 159A continuous. Where the 5000/45C give 225A continuous
This might be an indication ?

some competitions like XFC require 4 minute routines. Anything less than 3:50 and you lose points. Managing to complete a 4min hardcore flight on a 700 size machine is very tricky with 5000mAH packs. Depending on the contents of the routine the weight trade for capacity may sometimes be favorable...
