This is a personal preference for the most part... I think. FatSharks seem to be the favorite in my research and easiest to get, but there are discussions between the predator and the dominator on which is better. I started with the cheap hobby kings and modded them into ski goggles. That worked pretty good, but not enough resolution. Then I bought predators and they are nice, but then it exposed my bad camera resolution. Now I am in eliminating that weakness. So I think it depends on what you want to spend and what you want to do, but imo the fatsharks wont hold you back.
My advice is to reach out to some local FPV'ers and see if you can look through their set ups and experience it for yourself. Thats the best way.

I had some Dominators up until recently when I sold off all my stuff. I was really happy with them.

I do the same typo all the time when trying to type goggle myself.

Do you have FPV goggles, and fly FPV currently? The reason I ask is because I'm just getting into FPV myself, and picked up the Fatshark Attitude SD setup. IMHO, for getting started in FPV it's hard to beat the price as a package since you get goggles, 5G8 video TX and RX, and the head tracker module. Add some IBCrazy blue beam antennas, and your camera of choice and for around $500 you can get started with FPV flight, with a good quality setup.

Thanks for the info WNCmotard, Sounds like a great package.

Oh, well in that case all you need are goggles then. If you don't have somewhere to actuallly demo them, then do some reading beforehand. If memory serves, the Dominators have a shallower FOV (field of view) at 30* I believe, and the Attitudes have a 35* FOV. Some guys claim the wider FOV makes them feel more immersed, and less of a staring at a screen effect. Something else to consider is the Dominators do not have any IPD (distance between your pupils basically) adjustment at all, they are fixed at 63.5mm. For me, I have to run the Attitudes all the way out (which is 69mm, and would like a bit more adjustment if possible and I'm not a big guy nor do I have a big head. Just food for thought.

if you get the fat shark goggles, do you have to use the built in rx or can you get them to plug into a rx like a RC805

If you compare goggles to monitor, goggles have very poor resolution. my $50 monitor looks a lot better than my expensive fatshark dominator. it would be better if you try it first before buying. If I only knew, i would just put cardboard on my monitor.

If you're talking about fatshark dominator, it doesnt have built in rx, you can put rx module on it or external rx. yes you can use other rx, it has av in.

Yes, but goggles are very portable for a backpack setup. Hike in, fly / film the area, pack it all back out easily.

WNCmotard where did you get this setup?

Fatshark Attitude SD setup: 5G8 video TX and RX, and the head tracker module. Add some IBCrazy blue beam antennas

All of the ones I see don't have RX

Also what camera did you go with? Any opinions on what might be a good one (camera)?
