Default Heat Shrink Tubing Size - Blade MSR

Hi All,

Got a new Blade MSR for x-mas 2010.....

I have of course had my fair share of "unexpected landings" and have now performed the whole Microheli CNC upgrade (just finishing the tail boom). I've done this as I've heard it will fly better and survive more crashes. I must say my stock heli seemed "off" in that the main rotor was not perfectly vertical....leaned out to the right at the top if looking from the tail. The Microheli version is poker straight!

Anyways, as many will know, you have to remove the tail motor from a stock boom (if you can't source the motor by itself)....thread the wires through the CNC boom and re-solder the wires to the tail motor.

I am simply wondering what size heat shrink tubing I would use to cover the new joints at the tail motor?

I have some 1/32, but that doesn't seem small enough (but the smallest I could find).

Thanks in advance for any advice

Cheers

Cool

I was wondering if you found out the size of heat shrink tubing to use for the the wire on the blade mSR? I bought the same Microheli aluminum upgrade kit for my mSR and I'm stuck on upgrading the tail boon part. I'm having an issue on which side I want to cut, the motor side or the plug side to pull the wire out and put in the new aluminum tail system. Any suggestions you have would be great. Also on the heat shrink tubing I was thinking a 1mm or 1.5mm size tubing to use to seal the wires back up think that is the right size?

Default Hello

You can find 1mm at Princess auto.
I use 1mm for making up extended tail booms for MCPX it's the right size.

If you cant find it. PM me your address I will mail you a couple of peaces.
As I'm in Canada you should get it pretty quick.

Later Ron

Ok awesome thanks for responding so fast .. I found some 1mm heat shrink tubing on eBay pretty cheap like $1.50-$5 depending on how much I want to buy lol. Which side would you recommend in cutting? Motor or the plug side? Any quick way of removing the old heat shrink tubing or just work around it?

Default Hi

I cut the old shrink tube off with a razor blade then slip it off, unsolder and re solder.

Have fun. see Magnifying glasses!
