So how did you mount the switches? Chord-wise or lengthwise?

They have to be mounted lengthwise with the wire side pointing outward.

If I read the eBay listing right, those are omni-directional switches intended for detecting vibration, which means your LEDs would probably be flickering all the way out to the flight station.

Yep, but they would stay on when you spooled up. And they're cheep.

Yeah...bumpy roads are the norm...and g-forces around turns...and the lateral acceleration from a stoplight... folks behind me in traffic wondering what's up with the disco lights!?
