Excellent flying! Personally I'd rather take it slow than crash like idiot. How long did you take to get to this level?

Thanks! It will be a year on the 26th Dec since I started flying helis. But I guess it tells more that I had around 1000 flights in this one year time, and god knows how many hours on the sim. Yeah, I'm a real addict.

Today we have a storm, once again. This continous bad weather has kept my 250s grounded for quite awhile. Lately is just sim sim sim. What can I do? :o

I fly with thumbs, and for some reason, the stick slips out of my thumb if i stir too long. Anyone else have this problem? Have you found a way to overcome this? I've tried pinch, but it's very uncomfortable.

Hi Raza,

Uhm, I don't think they know. I'm hoping you might know someone who can do piro flips very fluently, and uses the thumbs. Where abouts exactly on the thumb do I place the stick. At this current time, the stick tends to slip slowly slowly out of the thumb which makes it hard for me to control the heli. If you could please ask one of your pro friends, that would be great. May be even a pic?

I've tried different sticks, and they are all the same. I don't want to buy any more. I've also tried rubber grommets, still no good.

TIA

Someone requested slow piroflip, with stick movement. And I havent forgotten Raza's request, so I'll hopefully kill 2 birds with one stone? :o

Everyone that get's into more advanced piro maneuvars runs into this problem at one point or another. Not much to say other than you'll get better at it. There's many reasons your thumb may drift off the stick, one being uneven cyclic movements (oblong or off-center stirring) As you're piro flips improve so will your ability to keep your thumbs on the sticks.

Sharp sticks help as well. I usually take the standard dx7 tips and file down every other point to make half as many longer and sharper points. There are a bunch of sticks that can be bought with nice sharp points as well.

Just work on keeping a more constant and possibly harder pressure on the sticks with your thumbs. It takes time, but you'll eventually learn how to keep them on better.

Cool thanks Raza. I'm practicing more, to let my thumb get comfortable at stirring, for a long period of a time. It's still slips, but I'm working on it.

3 (+/-) months since I started with helis passed yesterday. This is what I am relatively comfortable with (both on sim and real). Working on inverted and polishing backwards (and still slow piroing 15 minutes a day) in next month or more
