cant get my head around this gov calculation
So ive mistakenly entered a final gear ratio into the software of 51, when in fact the ratio should be 46.36.
Ive recorded my headsppeed as 1970 when the wrong figure of 51 was entered. so what is my real headspeed? Any clever dickies out there? or is it so simple ive made it more complex? |

Ok sober now
motor pole count = 10 main gear =204 need to find what pinion SK thought I had, so... (51 * 2) / 10 = 10.2 204 / 10.2 = 20 so SK thought i had a 20 tooth pinion, when in fact the pinion is 22 so gear ratio with 20 tooth is 204/20 = 10.2 22 tooth is 204/22 = 9.272 at headspeed 1970 SK calculated motor speed of 1970 * 10.2 = 20094 so real headspeed would be 20094 / 9.272 = 2167 DOES this seeem correct???????? Christ if so it means ive bean flying my Goblin with a headspeed of 2400 in idle up No wonder its fast lol. |

Your numbers are correct, but of a roundabout route you took though
51/46.36 = 1.10 (your head speed is reading 10% low) 1.10*1970 = 2167 (actual value).
