Reduced lift and cutting out.
Hi all
So have been using my nano for a few months with the tame dx6i settings and have just got myself to the point where i could start experimenting with throttle up settings. For a while the heli has been a bit boggy and sounds like its really struggling to lift with positive pitch. It also intermittently cuts out now and then. I put this down to a worn motor and having the heli set up quite tame although im now on 100% travel adjust and have is set at 70DR, 30 Expo. So i have replaced the motor and after running it for a few batteries to bed in, put the DX in to throttle up mode and nervously tried to fly expecting her to be much more twitchy and responsive especially on the collective. To my disappointment she still feels really boggy and struggles to lift and does not behave how i though she might at all. Is also cutting out still, particularly if you hold it in your hand and whack the stick fully forward. I have the throttle set to 80 % and pitch travel set to 85 % as in the fantastic set up tips on here recommends, however im sure its meant to be loads more responsive than it is at the moment. I checked that the collective is working with the throttle hold switch on and it all seems to be working fine. Also flys ok apart from this lack of power and cutting out. Sorry bit long winded anyone got any ideas what's wrong. Im thinking it night be a dodgy main board which is really annoying as this is my second one as the first had a connector terminal come off. Man these thing are so much fun but damn frustrating lol. cheers for any help Dave |

I have about 8 batteries of varying type and age that i rotate through and it seems to display the same behaviour regardless. I always run them to no more than 4 mins and let them cool down before recharging. Im pretty sure its not a battery issue as a couple of them are pretty new. Thanks though.

So tested my nano against a brand new one at my local model shop.
Cant say there was much difference between the two. tried a 45c battery which does give noticeably more power. Guess i was wrong and thats how these things fly. cant even blame being a noobie as had msrx for ages and had the nano for over 6 months. Maybe im such an amazing pilot that this thing isnt quick enough for me lol. |
